I've had hardship. Divorce. Heartbreak. The kind of years that either break you or clarify you. What came through the other side was this: one film, one story, one chance to leave something behind that is genuinely uplifting. Not gritty. Not dark. A feel-good musical film about what it means to pass the light to someone else before it fades.

ILLUMINE is that film. It is the most honest thing I have ever made — and the first thing I have ever made entirely for myself.

ILLUMINE is a 20-song musical film about a cinema director losing his sight and a young Thai woman discovering hers. It spans Bangkok and Hawaii, Thai classical dance and Hawaiian hula, 14 languages and 14 cultural adaptations. The novel is complete at 70,000 words. The screenplay is finished at 83 scenes. The music exists across 133+ recorded tracks. The vision has never been clearer.
